Creating a nice video for your website using still pictures and graphics is fairly easy using free tools that are readily available. There are programs which are on your computer such as Windows Movie Maker or iMovie on a Mac. There are also some free online tools such as Animoto (animoto.com) and One True Media (onetruemedia.com). As with most free online tools there is a free version and then for an little more you can subscribe for and enhanced version.
Below is a video I created using One True Media. I chose an online application because it made soundtrack music available to me without any licensing issues. I like the interface on one true media, very much like Windows Movie Maker which I have used before. The free version means your videos show the One True Media logo at the beginning but that is not really a huge problem. With the paid version you can get them without the logo.
Once you have your video done a good strategy is to create a YouTube channel for your business and then upload the video to your channel and then embed it in your site. It seems like the long way around, I know. But you see,YouTube is the third most used search engine on the web. When you put your video on your channel you can create a description. You can put a link to your website and related keywords in to the description. This creates a high quality inbound link to your site as well as spreading your web presence around. A totally white-hat boost to your Search Engine Rankings.
This is not to mention that people love watching web videos, a good video is good content and also gives you some great ways to show off your products and services.
